This large pine wedding cabinet was made in JiangSu province and dates from circa 1920. It has been lightly restored with some new materials, such as the two removable inner shelves and a hanging rail, making it possible to use it as a wardrobe or shelved cupboard. It retains a number of wonderful decorative features such as the two carved pieces either side of each door. The piece also has small carved adornments to the front legs and sides.
The distressed blue/aquamarine paint is accented areas where lighter undercoat and the natural wooden tones beneath show through. Its two doors are mounted on wooden hinges and can be fastened with a brass pin in the large brass togetherness plate. The brass pin is included in the purchase.
This is a beautiful piece that works equally well around the home. Can be used as a linen cupboard, office storage or even as part of a free standing kitchen area.
